This page describes how Poo handles your journal today. It will be updated before the app is released on the App Store. The publisher’s legal name and a monitored support address are not published yet.
Your journal
Your account email, journal entries, notes, and attached photos are used to provide your journal. Saved entries and photos are stored with your account using Supabase, our hosting provider. The app also keeps a copy on your device so you can view and edit your journal offline.
Sign in with Apple
If you sign in with Apple, Apple verifies your identity. You can choose Hide My Email. We securely retain the Apple authorization needed to disconnect it when you delete your account.
Photos
Photos are private to your account and remain attached to their entries until you remove or replace them, delete the entry, or delete your account. Unfinished draft photos stay on the device unless you explicitly request photo analysis.
Before storing a photo, the app creates a resized copy without the original location metadata, filename, or photo-library identifier. A photo’s capture time can be used as the entry time only when you choose it. Photos taken in the app are not added to your photo library.
Optional photo analysis
Photo analysis requires your permission. When you choose Analyze photo, that photo is sent to OpenAI to suggest visible details such as Bristol type and color. Your notes, pain, and urgency answers are not included. Saving a photo alone does not request analysis.
You can turn photo suggestions off in Settings. That stops future requests. It cannot undo processing that has already happened. Provider retention is explained before you enable analysis.
Export and deletion
Export journal in Settings lets you save a copy of your entries and photos. You can remove individual entries and photos, or use Delete account to remove your account and its journal from the active service.
Account deletion does not erase files you already exported or originals in your photo library. Other offline devices cannot be remotely erased. Recovery backups, and any photos already sent for analysis, are separate from active journal storage.
Tracking
The app does not include advertising or cross-app tracking.
Questions can go to the support page once a contact address is published.
